B.J. Golden and Eric Breish
Formed in 2016, Golden Guitars was founded by musician B.J. Golden and artist Eric Breish who have been friends for over 20 years. The idea was to create an instrument that played as well as any guitar on the market, but also one that had a striking visual appearance based on the artwork that Eric Breish is known for. Eric is represented by galleries across the US and has work in permanent collections around the world. B.J. has a masters degree in classical guitar performance and was the multi-instrumentalist in Brantley Gilbert's band from 2014-2022. The two friends have been refining the design of Golden Guitars over the last six years with the help Jared Peterman (Clydesdale guitars), who worked with B.J. as a guitar tech during his tenure in Brantley Gilbert's band.
Once the guitar and artwork had been coupled together, the next phase was how to display it. Placing the guitar in a case or on a floor stand didn’t do the instrument justice, so the team developed a system of mounting the guitar to one of Eric’s artwork panels. This would allow the owner to display the guitar under lighting that fully expressed the beauty and movement of Eric’s work and also showcase how the instrument looks under stage lighting. The result was breathtaking. Golden Guitars represents not only a fine art piece, but a highly refined instrument that is easily removed from the art panel and ready to be played at any level.
